WELCOME to the SMILE FOUNDATION

The SMILE Foundation (Supporting Medical Innovation for Life Enhancement) Foundation is a groundbreaking national charity at the forefront of Australian philanthropy.

Compassionate and creative and launched in July 2007 at the Sydney Opera House, the SMILE Foundation was established by like-minded business people to assist families whose children suffer from rare diseases and provide financial assistance to affected children and their families.

The SMILE Foundation is also committed to awareness to ensure that attention is brought to this much needed area which in the past has often been sadly overlooked. In Australia today there are 2,600 rare diseases affecting a staggering 1.2 Australians.

Since October 2008, the SMILE Foundation continues to make a real impact on and lasting difference to the lives of kids with rare diseases through its Family Relief Program. Not only has SMILE given financial grants to many Australian families in a very short space of time but finally, families whose children suffer from a rare disease have somewhere to turn to and have their story to be heard.
